Hello and welcome to my podcast!
I hope to be able to provide you with useful information in small, digestible bytes rather than to over-saturate you with a deluge of confusing data. My podcasts will build upon your already-existing knowledge of how to keep yourself secure in all matters cyber.
I first became interested in computer security after I discovered Cliff Stoll’s “The Cuckoo’s Egg” in the local library. The story of a real life mystery brought to light by a 75 cent computer billing error was intriguing. Government secrets, the FBI, spies… I was fascinated. From there I started reading other books on computer security, joined a professional Computer Security organization and eventually acquired my CISSP (a security certification, which is good or bad, depending upon who you ask).
Along the way I couldn’t help but notice the great divide of knowledge that exists between security professionals and everyday people. Neither side wishes to bridge the gap of being able to even remotely understand one other, so that is what I would like to be able to do, in order to make the internet safer for everyone.
I have a degree in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University and often find myself helping friends and family with a multitude of computer-related problems. Using basic problem solving skills and a common sense approach, I have been able to discover solutions to a broad range of security problems. I hope to be able to similarly empower you.
